JR Levins Recognised as Employer of the Year at Unitemps Awards

15/05/2026

JR Levins was proud to attend the Unitemps Awards at Liverpool John Moores University, where the firm received two special awards recognising its support for early careers and workplace development.

The firm was named Employer of the Year, while Ruby Jordan was awarded Intern of the Year.

The awards were hosted by Unitemps, which played an important part in Ruby’s own route into JR Levins. Ruby first joined the firm through a Unitemps internship while studying at university. What began as a short-term opportunity later developed into a full-time role with the firm.

For JR Levins, the recognition reflects the importance of creating local opportunities and supporting people at the early stages of their careers.

From internship to full-time role

Ruby’s journey with JR Levins began while she was still at university. Like many students and graduates, she was considering what direction to take after finishing her studies and looking for the right opportunity to develop her skills.

She first joined the firm through a Unitemps internship, supporting JR Levins as it began developing its first dedicated marketing function. That opportunity gave Ruby the chance to gain practical experience in a professional environment, while also helping the firm build its marketing presence across social media, website content, recruitment campaigns and community updates.

Over time, the role continued to grow. Ruby became part of the team, developed her skills and later moved into a full-time position as Marketing Coordinator.

This is something the firm is particularly proud of. Internships can often be seen as temporary placements, but with the right support, they can become a meaningful first step into a long-term career.

Supporting local talent

JR Levins has offices across Huyton, Liverpool, Widnes, Runcorn, Birkenhead and the wider Merseyside and Cheshire area. As a local high street law firm, the firm is committed to investing in people who want to build their careers close to home.

That includes supporting interns, apprentices, trainees and team members who may be taking their first steps into the legal sector or into professional services more widely.

The Employer of the Year award recognises that approach. It reflects the work taking place across the firm to create opportunities, support development and help people build confidence in their abilities.

For many people starting out, having someone believe in them can make a real difference. Ruby’s experience is a good example of that.

Speaking about Tracy Morgan, Managing Partner at JR Levins, Ruby said:

“Tracy has been so supportive of me since I did the internship, offering me a full-time role and always believing in my ability and my knowledge at a time where I didn’t necessarily believe in myself.

“When I finished university, I didn’t really know what direction I wanted to go in. Tracy has always believed in me and supported me all the way through, so I’m very grateful for that. She truly deserves this award.”

Ruby’s Intern of the Year award recognises not only the work she has put into her role, but also the progress she has made since first joining the firm.

Everyone at JR Levins is very proud to see her recognised.

Why early career opportunities matter

A career in law or professional services does not always begin with a clear plan. For many people, it starts with work experience, an internship, a support role or an opportunity to learn from those around them.

That is why early career pathways are so important. They allow people to gain experience, ask questions, develop practical skills and understand where their strengths might take them.

At JR Levins, the focus is on supporting people properly once that opportunity is in place. This means giving team members guidance, responsibility and encouragement as they grow into their roles.

The awards afternoon at Liverpool John Moores University was a welcome moment to reflect on that work and recognise the people behind it.

Looking ahead

JR Levins would like to thank Unitemps and Liverpool John Moores University for hosting a lovely event, and for the work they do in connecting students and graduates with local employers.

The firm is proud of both awards and grateful to everyone involved in supporting Ruby’s journey.

Most importantly, the afternoon was a reminder that when local employers invest in people, the impact can last well beyond an internship.

For JR Levins, that remains an important part of building a strong, dependable and approachable firm for the future.
