JR Levins Recognised for Commitment to the Community at Halton Business Awards

19/06/2026

JR Levins has been recognised as Highly Commended for the Commitment to the Community Award at the 2026 Halton Business Awards.

The award honours organisations that go above and beyond to make a positive difference in the Halton Borough. For us, it was a lovely moment of recognition, especially because community support is such an important part of who we are as a firm.

However, the important thing is this: our commitment to the local community does not begin or end with an award.

As a local high street law firm, our offices are based in the communities we serve. Our staff live locally, our clients are local, and many of the clubs, charities and organisations we support are part of everyday life across Halton, Merseyside and Cheshire.

Celebrating local business

The Halton Business Awards Gala Dinner took place on Friday 12 June 2026, bringing together businesses and organisations from across the borough.

Fourteen members of the JR Levins team attended the evening to celebrate the achievements of local businesses, win or lose. It was an opportunity to step away from the usual working week, put the files down and recognise the work being done across Halton.

As members of Halton Chamber of Commerce, we regularly attend local business events. Over time, this has allowed us to get to know many businesses across the area and see first-hand how much commitment, energy and care exists within the local business community. Being recognised among those organisations is something we are very proud of.

Recognised in three categories

Alongside being Highly Commended for Commitment to the Community, JR Levins was also shortlisted for the Outstanding Customer Service Award.

This recognition means a great deal to us because client service is at the heart of our work. People usually contact a solicitor at an important or stressful time in their lives. They may be buying a home, dealing with a family matter, facing a police interview, preparing a Will, handling probate or trying to resolve a dispute.

In those moments, good service is not just about answering the phone quickly. It is about listening properly, explaining things clearly and helping people understand what happens next.

We were also proud to see our Marketing Coordinator, Ruby Jordan, shortlisted in the Young Employee of the Year 21+ category. Ruby has played an important role in developing JR Levins’ marketing, community activity and online presence, helping us share the work of our teams and the stories behind the firm.

Why community matters to us

For JR Levins, being local is not just about having offices in Runcorn, Widnes, Huyton and Birkenhead.

It means supporting grassroots sport, local charities, staff fundraising, community groups and organisations that bring people together. Sometimes that support is visible, such as sponsoring a team kit or attending an event. Sometimes it happens quietly in the background, through small contributions, staff-led fundraising or simply showing up when help is needed.

Those efforts may seem simple, but they can make a real difference. A junior sports team with new kit, a charity fundraiser that reaches its next milestone, or a local organisation that feels backed by nearby businesses all help strengthen community life.

Supporting local people, charities, clubs and organisations

Over the past year, JR Levins has supported a range of local causes and community initiatives, including grassroots sports clubs, inclusive sporting events and charity fundraising.

This work reflects the kind of firm we want to be: dependable, approachable and rooted in the places we serve.

Awards are always appreciated. They give teams a moment to pause and feel proud. But they are not the reason we get involved.

We do it because local clubs, charities and community groups are often the places where people find confidence, friendship, support and belonging. They are where young people learn teamwork. They are where families come together. They are where volunteers give up their time, often after long working days, because they care about the people around them.

As a local firm, we believe it is important to support that work wherever we can.

Thank you to Halton Chamber of Commerce

We would like to thank Halton Chamber of Commerce and the organisers of the Halton Business Awards for a fantastic evening, and for continuing to celebrate the businesses and organisations that contribute to the borough.

We would also like to congratulate all the winners, highly commended organisations and shortlisted finalists. The evening was a reminder of the strength of the local business community and the positive impact being made across Halton.

For JR Levins, being Highly Commended for Commitment to the Community is something we are proud of.

But our work in the community continues, as it always has.
